CHARITY DONATIONS.

'Next to the National Lottery, Freemasonry is the largest donator to Charity, all of which is freely given by its 300,00 Brethren'

 

FOUNDATION CHARITY

2011 is the sixth year Foundation Lodge has held their Charity Donation Evening. In 2006 the Lodge presented £2,900 to eight charities; in 2007 we gave the Ghurkhas £1,500 and a further £4,900 to six charities. In 2008 we gave £6,720 to eleven Charities. In 2009 we gave £7,200 to 12 charities. In 2010 we gave 10 charities a total of £5,650. In 2011 we donated £3,000.00 to 10 charities and good causes. In all the brethren of Foundation Lodge have given over £29,700 to 57 charities and good causes in six years.

2011

FOUNDATION LODGE DONATES

£3,000.00 TO TEN CHARITIES 

Representatives of ten charities attended Foundation Lodge’s annual Charity Donation Evening at The Masonic Hall, in Portland Street, on 30th November 2011 to receive contributions totalling £3,000.00 from the brethren of Foundation Lodge No 82.

 

 

2010

 

FOUNDATION LODGE DONATES

£5,650.00 TO TEN CHARITIES 

Representatives of ten charities attended Foundation Lodge’s annual Charity Donation Evening at The Masonic Hall, in Portland Street, on Tuesday 30th November 2010 to receive contributions totalling £5,650.00 from the brethren of Foundation Lodge No 82.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2009

FOUNDATION LODGE DONATES

£7,300.00 TO TWELVE CHARITIES  

Representatives of 12 charities attended Foundation Lodge’s annual Charity Donation Evening at The Masonic Hall, in Portland Street, on  6th November 2009 to receive contributions totalling £7,200.00 from the brethren of Foundation Lodge No 82. The donations were to support a mix of charities and good causes with national and international reach.

 

 

 

 

 

2008

FOUNDATION LODGE GIVES

£6,720.00 TO ELEVEN CHARITIES

At the end of November 2008 representatives of eleven charities, and the Provincial Grand Master for Gloucestershire, Right Worshipful Brother Adrian Davies JP, attended Foundation Lodge’s annual Charity Donation Evening at The Masonic Hall, in Portland Street, on Tuesday 18th November 2008 to receive charity donations totalling £6,720.00 from the brethren of Foundation Lodge No 82.

 

Brethren proposed the charities to which donations would be made. Donations to five organisations were from a fund left to the lodge by Worshipful Brother Walker, and money donated monthly, by the brethren for charity, was used for donations to the remaining charities.

2007

 

FOUNDATION LODGE PRESENTS CHEQUES TOTALLING £4,300.00 TO SIX CHARITIES

           

          In December 2007 Local representatives of six charities were invited to attend

 Foundation Lodge’s annual charity presentation ceremony at The Masonic Hall, in Portland

 Street, on Thursday December 6th 2007 to receive  contributions totalling £4,300.00 from the brethren of Foundation Lodge No 82.

 

FOUNDATION LODGE PRESENTS

CHEQUE TO THE GHURKHA TRUST 

To commemorate the memory of W Bro Charles Walker, who fought during the last war in Burma, and left a legacy for Cheltenham’s Foundation Lodge No 82 to distribute to charity, theWorshipful Master W. Bro David Griffiths and W. Bro Ray Pearson PPrSGD presented a cheque for £1,500.00 to Lt. Tikaparsad Rai and Lt Pradip Limbar both of the 94 Stores Squadron Queens Own Ghurkha Logistics Regiment as representatives of The Ghurkha Welfare Trust.  

The presentation took place at the Ghurkhas barracks at Hullavington, near Chippenham and was the result of a proposal, in lodge, by W Bro Desmond Taylor. W Bro. Charles Walker, who held the rank of Major, was also the commandant of a camp for Japanese prisoner of war. He also left legacies to other lodges. Foundation’s legacy has been invested and the interest will be donated annually to charities and other deserving causes.                                        

 

 

2006

 FOUNDATION LODGE PRESENTS CHEQUES

TOTALLING £2,900.00 TO 8 CHARITIES.

In 2006 the lodge presented  donations to the Cat Protection league; SPECAL; The Gloucestershire Oncology Trust,  The Spring Centre;  National Star Centre;  M. S Society; The Glos Bracotherapy Trust, The children’s feeding station  at St Andrews Church Kenya.
